Skoda Superb - on sale in September with prices starting at £15,490

Three trim levels are offered - S, SE and Elegance, and the Superb engine line-up is a comprehensive mix of petrol and diesel units that cater for the needs of every type of customer. These include the new 1.4 TSI petrol engine that offers an outstanding combination of greater fuel economy and low CO2 emissions while delivering 125bhp in a smaller, lighter engine than previously offered.

In addition, for the first time on the Superb, there is a new common rail diesel engine with 170bhp, a winning combination of great fuel economy, low CO2 emission and smooth diesel performance.

Also on offer are DSG gearboxes, with a six-speed DSG standard on the 3.6 V6 (at 260 bhp, it is the most powerful road-going vehicle Skoda has produced to date), and optional with the 2.0 TDI engines. For the first time, Skoda will offer a new seven-speed DSG gearbox with the 1.8 TSI engine.

The new Superb offers class-leading interior space, with more rear leg room than even an S-class Mercedes. Not only is the space for driver and passengers enormous, the boot volume of 565 litres (with rear seats up) is class leading.

A large number of safety features are standard on the new Superb. All models have seven airbags: driver and passenger front and side airbags, curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag; ESP is standard across the range. This has helped the Superb achieve five stars in EuroNCAP testing for driver and occupant protection.
